Baby Eden is Here!

New Baby

“The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” Psalm 126:3. God has recently blessed our family with a healthy baby. Eden Jeanne Myers was born July 18th. Mom and baby are doing well, and the kids are excited to have her with us. We’re so grateful for the prayers throughout the pregnancy and for how so many of you have already blessed us since we have been back with meals, furnishing the house, gift cards, and vehicles. Thank you! For the next few months, we’ll be in the United States waiting for the baby’s passport and visa. We’re grateful for the chance to reconnect with supporting churches, supporters, and friends. If you’re one of those, we’d love to meet and share what God has been doing among the Lembena people. We’re also praying for the remaining support needed to return to the field fully funded. We need an additional $2,500 per month to move from 75 to 100%. If the Lord lays it on your heart or if you know someone who may be interested in joining our support team, we’d be grateful. Most of all, please pray with us. We’ll continue translating scripture and writing Bible lessons while here, and our teammates remain in the village teaching literacy classes. When we return, we plan to begin phase one Bible teaching (from Creation to Christ). This will be the first chronological teaching ever in the Lembena language. Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and partnership. We truly couldn’t serve in Papua New Guinea without you.

  • Praise: Baby Eden was healthy and Laura is recovering without complications.
  • Pray for Bible translation and lesson development. Pray for accuracy, clarity, and endurance as we translate Scripture and develop the Bible lessons we will be teaching later this year.
  • Praise: We are grateful for the many Lembena helpers who have helped with translation so far and for their willingness to be involved.
  • Pray for our baby furlough, that we would be able to get the necessary paperwork quickly to return to our village soon.
  • Praise: God worked out all the details for our fulrough with a place to stay, vehicles, furnishing and more.
  • Pray for our team and families. Pray that we would remain encouraged, walk closely with the Lord, and wisely balance time with God, one another, and the Lembena people during this busy season.
  • Praise: We are grateful for all of you who are partnering with us in prayer, including those who are faithfully praying for the Lembena people on their prayer cards. Your prayers are powerful, and we thank God for them.
