Visas Approved

Hey All,
We wanted to send out a quick email and keep you up to date on where we are at currently. Thank you for all your prayers as we were waiting on the approval of our work permits (visas) to be in Papua New Guinea. Our permits were approved and we were given the go ahead by New Tribes leadership in PNG to purchase our tickets. And we are excited to say that we have purchased our tickets!!!

Leave Date June 12th

The countdown begins. Just a little over a month from now we will be boarding the plane for Papua New Guinea and starting the over 9,000 mile journey with over 60 hrs of travel! We have a longer layover in Australia and hope to visit with family who are there and hopefully that will be a good time to recharge as well. 

We have a lot of packing and prep to do before leaving in June as we figure out what can fit in our luggage, what we will need initially and what to store here to send later. Many of you have lovingly asked how you can help us as we prepare to leave. A huge help for us would be purchasing some of the items we are hoping to take with us before we leave. We still have to buy our luggage and a few other items that people have recommended. We have put together an Amazon wish list of things we are hoping to have purchased within the next month. Note that the more importance things are labeled as a higher priority. Arrival Plans

Once in Wewak we will be spending about a month and a half with our co-workers, the Fergusons and Hughes. This time will be spent getting to know them better as we will be spending 15+ years working side by side with them. We will also be working through team strategy on what our ministry will look like in the village and what our roles with be. We will be talking about potential locations for us to work in as well planning a survey trip/trips among potential people groups. We are really looking forward to this time with our teammates. 

In August we will be moving to Madang to begin learning PNG culture and the trade language here. We will be a part of a larger class who will also have just arrived here. To learn the language here typically takes around 6 months so we are planning on being in Madang through December and hopefully by that point we have more info on what people group we will be allocating to as a team!

Prayer Requests

• Continue to pray for preparations, as we pack and plan for these next 4 years in PNG. Pray that God would continue to prepare us for living in a tribal setting. We know that we are going to be trusting in Him to sustain us.
• Continue to pray with us that God would open doors for us to share about our ministry and that he would continue to move people to join with us. Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.
• Pray for the 60+ hour trip with a 1 year old. Pray for patience for us and that Addy is able sleep well and be entertained on the trip. 

Support Update

We are so blessed to have reached the required support level to purchase our tickets and make the move over to PNG and we are currently at 82% of our recommended support! Thank you all who have joined with us. We are still looking to raise that last 18% in order to be fully funded and be more effective in ministry.
