Getting Ready
These last few months have flown by and so much has happened. Addy turned one and she got her own passport! We have had friends visit from another country (Canada, but it counts). We have been getting ready by filling out loads of paperwork, applying for work permits and visas, preparing ourselves mentally, spiritually and physically for Papua New Guinea. We know that we won’t be able to do it on our own strength and ability but will have to rely on the Holy Spirit and His wisdom. God has really been showing us how much He is in control and working even now in raising our team of supporters and providing for us. Please pray that our faith and trust in Him would be strengthened now in the good times for the hardships we know we will face overseas.
Support Update
We have shared with many different churches, small groups and individuals over the last few months and have had been so blessed to have people join our team! God has been so good to us and we are excited to say that we have reached 75% of our budget! This is a huge milestone and with reaching 75% we have been given the green light to purchase our tickets upon approval of our Entry Permits (Visas)! We know that this is the Lord at work and the Holy Spirit moving people to join with us. Thank you to those who have partnered with us. We cannot do this without the body of Christ and this must be an extension of Churches here in America in order to plant a church there. Our plan is still to leave in June which is just a couple of months away! We will have our exact leave date as soon as we actually purchase our tickets.

West Hewa
Many people have asked us if we know which people group or language group in Papua New Guinea we will be living and working with. We don’t. We as a team (Myers, Hughes and Fergusons) have been considering the Western Hewa as a potential location for us to minister but there is still a lot of work needing to be done before a decision will be made. Check out the video below that was taken during a survey among one of the villages of West Hewa. This video shows the openness and longing that the people for missionaries to live with them and learn their language. Please pray with us for the Hewa People and that God would continue to open doors for us to live and work among them. The people are very open to having missionaries come and live among them.
Prayer Requests
- Continue to pray for preparations as we fill out entry permits (visas) and that God would continue to prepare us for living in a tribal setting. We know that we are going to be trusting in Him to sustain us.
- Pray that God would continue to open doors for us to share about our ministry and that he would continue to move people to join with us. Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.
- Pray for the West Hewa people. That the Holy Spirit would be preparing their hearts and breaking down barriers as well as sustaining the people until the Gospel is able to be shared with them whether that is through us or other missionaries.
