The Next Chapter

Our last semester in Missouri has been the busiest semester for us on record! We took some incredible classes including Missionary Tech, which involved soldering, solar electric systems, water purification and more!

We spent 9 days living out in the woods during one of our Practical Skills classes. It was an adventure as we lived in a tarp covered house and experienced every kind of weather! From snowing and freezing to tornado watches and lightning storms to almost 90 degrees! Though it was a crazy time, we learned a lot and enjoyed ourselves!

Finally, we have finished! After 2 years of living in Missouri, we have completed the Missionary Training with Ethnos360! We graduated with a class of 54 students and we are going to miss them as they follow God’s leading to places all over  the globe.

Our Graduating Class as MTC (Can you find us?)

After we graduated, we had a week-long orientation for what membership with Ethnos360 would look like and we talked about all sorts of fun things like insurance, taxes, self-employment, and retirement. Laura and I had an interview to become members and we both left the interview encouraged. On June 1st, we will become official members of Ethnos360! We are super excited! Thanks for all your prayer and support!

Getting all our possessions and our little family back to Washington was a little complicated. I didn’t realize how much stuff we had accumulated with having a baby and we could see that there was no way all of us and our stuff would fit into our car. We ended up using some free airline miles and flying Laura and Addy home with some of the larger baby items while Laura’s dad, Steve, flew out to help drive back. We took several days to travel back and got to see some amazing sights along the way.

Thanks to all of you who were praying for our safe travel home!

We are excited about the next step for us as we will be spending about a year in Washington as we build our team of prayer and financial partners so we can serve full time overseas.

We are also excited to share with you that we are now planning on serving with Ethnos360 in Papua New Guinea! We spent much of last semester seeking wisdom in where we should go. We feel confident that this is where we should go and that the Lord will be with us the whole way. We would love to talk to you more about Papua New Guinea and the what and why of our ministry there!

For those of you who haven’t met Adalia yet, here are some pictures to hold you over until you do. We look forward to getting together and seeing everyone!

  • Some things to be praying for
    • Pray for us as we seek financial and prayer partners
    • Pray that we make the most use of the time we have with family and friends
    • Praise to God as He has already provided housing for us while we are back!
    • Pray for more opportunities to share our vision and mission
